After photographing this bride getting ready, I wanted to create this stunning yet simple detail photo. I really enjoy shooting the details of a wedding. I realize that the bride has put so much time into picking out just the right gown, shoes, and jewelry, for example, not to mention all of the reception detail decisions that were made. I want to make sure I capture all of those, and it's fun creating ingenious ways to present these wedding details. The challenge inspires me. So I positioned her in this patch of sunlight. I knew this light would bring out the texture of her wedding gown, as well as the circular florets you see at right.
The groom had sent a dozen roses to the bride's house prior to her leaving for the church. I wanted to incorporate one of those roses as an additional detail.
