This was a very emotional parent dance for me to photograph. If you look closely you can see the groom’s tears as he holds his mother closely. The bride and her mom watch in the background. His mom moved slowly and was very weak, but I could tell how much it meant to her to be dancing with her son. The bride and groom later told me that the groom’s mom passed away a few weeks after this wedding. He wrote to tell me how much he loved the photos I took of him with his mother and that he would always treasure my photographs. I can’t tell you how much that meant to me, and I realize what a crucial and important job I have as a wedding photographer.
