I believe these wedding photographs showcase an exceptional winter wedding at HollyHedge. This Bucks County wedding venue has a lot to offer in every season, but I believe these photos bring out the very best this historic and sought-after venue has to offer during the winter months.

A little about this couple: Megan and Bryan share a lot of interests. Among them are an appreciation for the cold weather, a love of swing dancing and finding fun in the unknown. Why was Megan and Bryan’s wedding exceptional? On one of the coldest days in January, they happily explored the far corners of HollyHedge for great wedding photographs. They put on the most awesome display of swing dancing I’ve ever seen, and to top if off they let their guests vote on where their honeymoon will be.

These two met at college, Lehigh University, through mutual friends. After they met, Bryan started showing up at Megan’s swing club meetings. A few years later he joined Megan’s performance team, the Steel City Swingers, and they’ve been dancing ever since — for more than seven years.

Once their wedding day was over, they found out that they are headed to New Zealand for their Honeymoon.

Enjoy the photos….and some fun dance shots and sparkler photos at the end…!

Megan’s theme was greenery and pine cones, a natural look, so I wanted to incorporate a sliver of sunlight and a an evergreen branch with her wedding shoes.

Moss made a good background for the wedding rings!

Megan loves the old gates on the courtyard, and wanted her bridal gown hung there. Good choice!

The light. It’s all about the light! That diamond of light touching her cheek and outlining her face.

The Holly Hedge fireplace is the old barn is a stunning backdrop.

As are the old barn windows! So many ways to photograph this spot…available light, a bit of flash, silhouette….

Another favorite spot explored at Holly Hedge. A walk by a stream with the setting sun during Golden Hour!

Okay, bridal party, let’s have some fun! What if you were being chased….

…….by something scary……..

The bridesmaids carried lanterns which added so much warmth to the ambiance in the old barn for the candlelight ceremony.

I like to capture a photo of all of the guests after the ceremony!

Every guest had this cool puzzle piece at their place setting. Each person actually voted on where Megan and Bryan Honeymoon would be! This is a couple that likes surprises!

These were the choices for the Honeymoon destination.

The couple started with a slow dance, that brought her mom to tears.

Which quickly broke into incredible swing dancing….! What a great idea for a first dance!

Having some fun with camera exposure during the dance sets.

RhythMix joins in with the guests dancing; their sax player has this little boy’s attention on the dance floor!

An impromptu gift before the toasts that was very special to this family.

The bridesmaids wanted to show off the backs of their sparkly maroon dresses.

Holly Hedge had a bonfire roaring. There was also a S’mores station for guests to build their own.

This is a time exposure using all ambient light and a sparkler. It’s also a double exposure.

This sparkler image has an off-camera flash to the left, and is a double exposure.

Just about every couple loves the antique gates on the Holly Hedge courtyard. They are beautiful in daylight, and make a striking image at night as well.
