ABOUT CINDY

Hi, I'm Cindy. Before I began photographing weddings, I was a full-time photojournalist working for newspapers in Kansas, New Jersey and Pennsylvania for over 15 years.

My favorite assignment was photographing world-renowned artist and sculptor George Segal in his studio in South Brunswick, N.J. It was just an unforgettable experience to be in his studio, which was converted from his parents' chicken coops on the property where he grew up. I’ll never forget that incredible experience and walking room after room where his sculptures stood. It was spending hours in a private museum. The life size sculptures looked as if they were going to come alive at any moment.

While working at my first newspaper, The Burlington County Times in South Jersey, I used my vacation time and traveled to Ghana to photograph medical students from Moorestown, N.J., working in a small village.

One year I decided to backpack Europe, staying in hostels (except for Amsterdam, where I spent the night on a horribly rocking and swaying boat for the worst night of sleep ever!) and explored Germany, Denmark, Switzerland and Italy, where my backpack and all my film was stolen.

Although the photographs were lost forever, the memories will never fade. My favorite experience in Europe was seeing the Gate of Ishtar, the entrance to the ancient city of Babylon, in the Pergamon Museum in Berlin, and the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam.

Now I also add landscape photography to my interests, having been to Yosemite, Iceland and Italy in the past few years. Utah is next for some night sky photography.

What does this have to do with wedding photography?

I love photographing events and seeing life unfold. I see history and I see art. I capture both on your wedding day. I see unique moments of an event to be treasured and passed down from generation to generation as family heirlooms.
