Meghan & Sean; Summer Photos in Lambertville

According to Forbes Magazine, Lambertville, N.J., is one of the top 15 prettiest towns in the country. And, it’s also a favorite of mine for engagement sessions. What better way to get to know a future bride and groom than by spending an afternoon and evening photographing them in this charming town! Lambertville’s streets are filled with antique shops, Victorian architecture, outdoor cafes and gorgeous views of the Delaware River. And oh, that canal path! Which brings us to engagement sessions in Lambertville. A favorite spot of mine is to photograph couples along the Delaware and Raritan Canal towpath.

And this is exactly where I started photographing Meghan and Sean on one of those perfect warm sunny days in this idyllic river town.

Meghan and Sean met at Ithaca College, both studying music and both bassoon players! They were friends and hung out with other music majors, and one day realized they had even more than a great friendship. They really complement each other and were up for having some fun during our shoot and didn’t even mind getting wet in a waterfall. They were climbing rocks and dancing with their shadows. We even found an old trolley while walking around near the river. After checking out the falls we headed into  town and found a music store that was perfect for these two. They are planning a fall wedding on a 15-acre family farm in Upper Bucks County.

Founded in 1705, Lambertville has also been named one of the 12 Perfect Cities to Get Married In. If you are planning a wedding here, there is no shortage of things for your guests to do while they’re in town. The acclaimed restaurants, art galleries, antique shops, historic bars, high end spas and salons, charming historic inns and vintage shops are all nestled in or near the quaint riverfront downtown area and canoe and kayak rentals are a short walk away.

Lambertville and New Hope across the river in Pennsylvania are linked by a fun walking bridge across the Delaware river, and there is as much to do – if not more – five minutes away in New Hope. Live music, outdoor cafés, breweries, the renown Bucks County Playhouse — the twin villages of New Hope and Lambertville are rich with fun, eclectic things to do, and both are great walking towns. The area is a bonafide shopping adventure! And the two-day Shad Fest every year is the last weekend of April, where Lambertville supplies the perfect setting and features the area’s finest artists and crafters.
